Hello and may I wish you all a Happy New Year along the hope that it may bring us all peace, health and happiness that can be so lacking at the moment. Looking back at the last year it is good to see that, in many ways, our group is continuing to prosper with a good number of new members joining our ranks as new advanced drivers, many with F1rsts, local and national observers swelling our support ranks and new associates under guidance with a view to achieving Advanced status. We have worked with IAM Roadsmart Headquarters to assist in the ongoing offer of IAM support to people in the old Teesside and Darlington Group areas.

However, the life of the group is constantly changing and we need to be ready and able to react to these changes.

We have for many years, had the benefit of a stable committee and officers. However, the time is now approaching where we need to make changes as some of our existing officers have decided that they need to step back from front line operations and hand over to new blood!

We are, therefore, looking forward to the AGM (which is not that far away) when the treasurer and secretary are standing down and our webmaster is indicating that he would like to consider handing over the reigns to a new person ( he gave us a year from last year to find a replacement).

In addition, my Vice Chairman has given me notice that he is not putting himself forward for re election at the AGM and we could, therefore, do with a new Vice Chair to work alongside me and prepare for eventual take over of the Chairman's role.

Put simply - we need to find to find the following officers before the AGM!

Vice Chairman        Secretary     Treasurer     Webmaster

I have to say that finding replacements for these officers is of paramount importance as the group cannot continue to operate without them.
